I had to work out exactly how I would fit out the interior, in order to tell the boatbuilders where to put the holes in the cabin sides for the service connections to the bank, the mushroom vents in the roof, and the chimney collar, and exactly where to fit the windows.
With a total length of 45', I must also decide on the length of both the front and the back deck, these are 6' and 3' respectively.
The cabin is therefore 36' long, and my studio, the largest room at 13'
Everything, including the insulation and the furniture, was drawn to scale to make sure it would fit, my paper plan was 4'long.
With an inch or two of leeway in each case, it wasn't difficult to fit everything in the right place.
